The museum of Impressionnism - Giverny

On the first of may 2009, the museum of Impressionism will open in Giverny, in place of the old Museum of American Art. The purpose of this new museum is to highlight the origins and the diversity of Impressionism, as well as the consequences in the art’s history of the 20th century.

The first exposition of the museum will take place from the 1st of may to the 15th of august 2009 and will be completely established to Monet’s garden in Giverny. Before or after the visit of the Foundation Claude Monet visitors will be able to contemplate about thirty painted works, some pictures and other documents in relation with Monet’s stay in Giverny.

From the 14th of July to the 31st of October: every day except on Mondays from 10.00 to 18.00
Last admission at 17.30
Open on Mondays even on public holidays.
Free admission on the first Sunday every month.

The entrance ticket for the museum of impressionism is independent from the one for the Foundation Claude Monet.
